Field Valve Technician

Rocky Mountain Valve Services is currently looking for a Field Valve Technicians for the Whitecourt/Fox Creek Area.

This position includes assisting with all aspects of service and repair of API/ANSI Wellhead, Facility & Pipeline Valves. This position encompasses wide range of responsibilities including adherence to quality and safety processes, procedures, participating in training, hazard identification, documentation management and general equipment maintenance & inspection activities.

 What you will be responsible for:

  • Reporting directly to the Field Supervisor or Branch Manager
  • Assisting Field Supervisor with all aspects of service and repair of API/ANSI Wellhead, Facility & Pipeline Valves.
  • Operating high pressure lubrication equipment.
  • Maintaining tools and equipment as directed.
  • Tagging, Recording & Entering information for valves into a computer tracking system.
  • Testing of valves to code and specifications ensuring compliance.
  • Traveling to other branch locations to meet operational needs.
  • Willing to be put into an on-call rotation.
  • Following all Safety and Quality Procedures
  • Reporting Fit for work

  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driver’s abstract required.
  • The Following Tickets: First Aid, H2S Alive, confined Space Entry, eGSO, CSO current safety certificates.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Minimum 2 years of oilfield maintenance experience preferred but not required

Working Conditions:

  • Shop and field environments with potential to travel to other branches.
  • Must be available during busy industry turnaround schedules.
  • Very hands-on role with standing for long periods and frequent kneeling, lifting, bending daily.
  • Potential exposure to oil & gas industry related hazard such as sudden loud noises (pops/bangs), harsh cleaning chemicals (Varsol), high pressure gas and H2s etc.
  • Steel-toed boots required.  All other PPE will be provided.
  • 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday to Friday, travel-time, overtime and weekends as required.  Potential 5 AM starts.
  • Will work into an on-call rotation schedule.
  • Required to pass a pre-employment drug test as this is considered a safety sensitive position.
  • Pre-access drug testing for field work may also be required and requested throughout duration of employment.
